A nice little feature on CONSEQUENCES Exhibition in last week's Weekend Weekly, a local Hong Kong travel mag!
Thanks ! I wish I could read Chinese :) I'll just assume it says nice things.

I've been totally obsessed with anything patterned lately - so this was a perfectly-timed project I recently worked on with Year 1 students at the school. Again, a bit of art direction (with my youthful clientele!) and an exploration of hand-painted repeat pattern design. The students and I tested out the technique of wheatpasting (something else I've been meaning to try for awhile), and created a mural for an empty wall in the back of the school. Everything was hand-painted on paper, cut into organic shapes, and then glued to the wall.
I think it turned out pretty rad! The students did an awesome job, and even helped to glue everything up - am I encouraging future graffiti artists? I'm also digging how it interacts with the surrounding architecture.
Woot! BIG THANKS EVERYONE ! The CONSEQUENCES Exhibition was a roaring success - we had a great turnout! Hope everyone had fun & thanks to those that were able to make it (and lucky you if you were able to grab a goodie bag in time!)
Thanks to my partners in crime for their excellent work - job well done, ladies!

Stay tuned - we've got more planned....
The show will remain up at the Fringe Club until May 11th - Please stop by and have a look if you haven't already!

Does it count as art direction if your clients are 3-year-olds? :) This was a collaborative effort between myself and 3 & 4-year-old students to create a garden of surrealistic flowers. We used printed cardboard boxes, collaged faces, paint, markers, and glue to make some wacky spring-themed art for the front entrance of the school. I like utilizing the found lettering and imagery on the boxes to incorporate a shot of color and pattern.

I have a group show coming up at the Fringe Club - opening on April 23, from 7-9PM. The exhibition is based around the idea of a girls' night out - and features artwork from myself, Sum-Sum Tse, Danielle Huthart, Kate Barnett, & Kim Van Gennip.
Be sure to stop by & check it out, as it should be a great night of art, drinks, & tunes!
We've also got goodie bags for the girls - (sorry guys!)
Hope to see you all there!
