Sabor y Ver / Taste and See - New Mural for Mesa 15!

This has probably been one of my favorite wall murals to date.  Mesa 15 (a fantastic Spanish / tapas restaurant here in Hong Kong) asked me to paint their walls for their relocation from Hollywood Road to the heart of Lan Kwai Fong.  They're now at 6/F, Grand Progress Building, 15-16 Lan Kwai Fong, Central.  If you're in Hong Kong, it's most definitely a must-try!  Seriously awesome Spanish food.

Anyways, on to the mural - I tried to inject a little flavor of Spain into the mural design (bright, sunny colors; bold, graphic pattern, some sneaky references to Picasso and Miro, and sexy Spanish gals soaking up the sun!)  I can only hope the walls speak for the deliciousness of the food inside.

Illustrations for Tangram x Jaycow

Ok, I may be slightly partial to Hong Kong-based label, Tangram (they are friends of mine, after all), but even if we didn't know each other personally, I think I'd still be saving my pennies to purchase one of their gorgeous garments each season!  (Please guys, can you do a line of shoes next?)

Now, if you know me well, you'll also be aware of my slight addiction to headscarves.  So when Paola & Ignacio asked me to create some fashion illustrations featuring their latest collaboration of head wraps with Jaycow Millinery, I couldn't have had a more fun assignment!  The two labels have dug into their personal collections of vintage and ethnic textiles to create one-of-a-kind head wraps for any stylish gal who wants to make a statement.  I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do.  Check out my illustrations below.  And to view (or purchase) the pieces, click here.  The "Robin" in African print is my personal fave!  I know I'll be wearing it with anything and everything.

Forest Friends

Blog posts looong overdue!  I'll be updating with a few of my recent projects over the coming weeks.

Here's a fun new kid-friendly mural I created for Yew Chung International School of Hong Kong's Year 1 campus.  I turned a bland, boring hallway into a colorful forest space - complete with falling leaves, quirky illustrative trees, and brightly-painted branches.  The mural is perfect as a backdrop for displaying student artwork in a variety of themes, and livens up a once-bare stairwell.  Plus, it makes school a whole lot more fun for the kids who get to walk past it every day!
